The HTML 4.0 Test Suite

0. Introduction

This test suite is organised in two parts: one for the mandatory sections of the HTML 4.0 specification, and one for the optional sections.

Each test page will contain a toolbar, which looks like this:

You can either use the next link of the toolbar to walk your browser through the entire test suite, or your can select individual tests from the indexes given below.

1. Conformance

This section tests the mandatory sections of the HTML 4.0 specification.

Note. I am working through testablestatement.txt, the results of carefully looking for the keywords "must", "shall" and "required" in the text version of the HTML 4.0 specification.

I welcome ideas as to how I can test anything for which I have not yet devised a test page.

2. Support

This section tests the level of support of non-mandatory parts of the HTML 4.0 specification, excluding those that are deprecated.
